Psychotherapy Services
I offer therapy that meets you exactly where you are, considering not just your thoughts and feelings, but the broader context of your life: your history, relationships, health, and environment.
“I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become.”
Each of us carries a unique story, shaped by experiences both joyful and difficult. While we cannot change the past, we can choose how to grow with it and create a life that feels authentic and whole. I know this not only through my work, but also through my own journey of navigating transitions, loss, and facing times of uncertainty and change. These experiences have shown me that fulfillment comes not from following a prescribed path, but from living in alignment with one’s values and passions.
As a therapist-in-training, I offer a safe and open space where you can bring your full self without judgment. My approach blends curiosity and empathy with a practical, goal-focused style. Together we will uncover insights, ease what feels heavy, and build tools you can carry beyond our sessions. Grounded in evidence-based methods and shaped by my perspective as a South Asian immigrant, I bring a whole-person and culturally aware lens to support you in reconnecting with yourself and moving toward lasting change.
Where I Can Help
I provide individual therapy to adults (aged 18 years and above) from all walks of life, including race and ethnicity, income, location, immigration status, and abilities. While I do not provide formal assessment services, I can work with clients with any formal or informal diagnoses.
Life Transitions
Life transitions come in all sizes. Starting a new job, moving, becoming a parent, or shifting relationships can leave even the most capable people feeling unsettled and uncertain. Together, we’ll explore these transitions with compassion and curiosity, building resilience and practical strategies to help you adapt and find alignment in new chapters of your life.
Trauma
Whether it’s acute trauma or ongoing stressors, trauma doesn’t just live in our memories; it can also show up in the body, shaping how we feel and respond to stress. In therapy, I take a gentle, neuroscience-informed approach that considers how the nervous system adapts to holding trauma. Together, we’ll explore both the emotional and physical ways it may be showing up, and at a pace that feels safe, find ways to restore greater balance and empowerment.
Burnout
Burnout can often show up as exhaustion, loss of motivation, and feeling disconnected from the parts of life. It can arise from prolonged or excessive stress in any area of life, like caregiving, relationships, academic pursuits, or professional roles. In therapy, I help you recognize the signs of burnout, untangle its root causes, and develop sustainable strategies to restore balance, energy, and a sense of fulfillment.
Identity & Purpose
Questions of “Who am I?” and “What do I want my life to mean?” often surface during times of change or cultural dissonance. These questions can feel frightening and daunting, but they can also serve as invitations to pause, reflect on your core values, and notice whether you’re living in alignment. In therapy, I help you approach these moments with self-compassion and curiosity, so you can gain new insights and move toward a more fulfilling and authentic path.
Chronic Disease & Pain Management
Living with a chronic condition or persistent pain impacts not just your body, but also your mood, relationships, and sense of identity. In therapy, we’ll address the emotional and practical challenges of managing illness, integrating coping tools and mind–body strategies to support both your mental and physical wellbeing.
Loss & Grief
Grief isn’t limited to the death of a loved one; it can arise from any meaningful loss (people, places, roles). I don’t see grief as something to “get over,” but rather something we grow with. Grief often remains part of us, while our life gradually expands around it with new experiences and ways of living. In therapy, we’ll honour your loss while also making space for growth, helping you carry your grief with compassion as you move toward a more meaningful and connected life.
My Philosophy & Approach
-
Whole-Person Perspective
I believe mental health is inseparable from physical health, having your basic needs met, and your social context. In our work together, we’ll explore not only your inner world, but also the environments, relationships, and systems that shape your wellbeing.
-
Evidence-Based and Practical
I draw on approaches like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). We'll use practical tools, check-ins, and ongoing feedback to work towards your goals.
-
Technology as a Bridge
Between sessions, we may use secure, user-friendly tools to help you stay connected to your goals—from digital exercises and progress tracking to journaling prompts. These supports make it easier to integrate insights from therapy into daily life.
-
Culturally-Aware Care
As a South Asian, first-generation Canadian, I understand the nuances and complexities of navigating multiple identities. I use cultural humility, anti-oppressive, and trauma-informed approaches to create a safe space where you can bring your full self.
